Parent/Child

The JCC Parenting Center provides opportunities for parents and children age 12-36 months to bond while interacting with others in the community and enhancing Jewish family life. As part of the Gan Tapuz Early Childhood Learning Center, the Parent/Child programs are founded on five pillars: child centered curriculum, developmentally and age appropriate environment, open communication, program documentation and on-going professional staff development.

JCC Water Babies is an interactive course for parents and children 4 months to 3 years that would be the perfect way to introduce your infant to the water this summer. Songs, games and activities help teach adult participants to successfully submerge and float their baby swimmers. Classes offered through the JCC Aquatics Department on Mondays & Wednesdays 11-11:30 am and Sundays 11-11:30 am or 3:30 - 4 pm. Class size is limited. Classes & Events:

Busy Babies 6-12 months
Stimulate your little one with a variety of age appropriate toys, games and music as you share your parenting experiences and learn new ways to activate and engage your new baby. You'll also recognize and celebrate developmental milestones.

Gymnastics Ages 12-36 months
With active parent participation, toddlers improve their motor skills, body awareness, and perceptual development. Children are introduced to gymnastics apparatus designed specially for them.

Messy, Messier, & Messiest - Ages 17-36 months
Who doesn't love finger-paint, shaving cream, and everything messy? Let's get dirty like we don't dare at home. Developmental and age appropriate materials are provided to you and to your child for enhancing tactile stimulation, gross and fine motor development and socialization. Materials fee included in class fee. For infants 17 - 36 months.

Steps Together: Stepping Out - Transition to Kindergarten
For children 24 months old as of 9/08. What a great way for incoming JCC preschool children and their parents to transition into our school in time for September. Parents are both active participants and observers as children come twice a week and participate in a formal preschool class. By the end of summer, parents are next door contributing to an informative discussion on child development while their children are interacting with teachers in an adjacent classroom next door.
